!Addr>Web
by Graham Campbell - January 1997 - gdc@argonet.co.uk
-----------------------------------------------------
This is a 'sister' application to my !MkAdresBk.
It is an application for automatically making a WebPage
with hot_links of your address Text_File.
If you've made an ASCII address file skip down to the section
"Making the Web Page File"
-----------------------------------
Making the Main 'ADDRESSES' file.
-----------------------------------
Making a text file of addresses is much more flexible and multi-usable
than typing in the addresses to the address-book in Voyager where
they are stored as a BASIC Data_File and so pretty much un-usable in other
contexts.
The file format of the Text_File is crucial, of course.
Just make it as follows -
If you want to include one or more Distribution Groups in your main
Addresses file, you have to have declared the List_Names when making your
Addresses_File.
Do this by typing the list name you choose and pressing return on its own
for the "address".
Here's an example of part of a possible main Addresses file :
Peter Smith
psmith@service_provider.co.uk
Sam Snodgrass
sam@service-provider.co.uk
MusicGroup
Jimmy Jones
jj@service.com
FootyTeam
Fred Unwin
freddy@server.co.uk
etc. etc.
Just make sure to press RETURN once after the last address, and save it.

Making the Web Page File
------------------------
This is all done automatically for you.
Inside this application you will see a default file called Header.
This MUST be present in the application.
Double click on this, to load it into a text editor.
The top two lines MUST be present.
They provide the title of the WebPage which appears on the title bar
and the main heading within your page, which will appear in Big Bold Print.
Any further lines of information to appear before your address list are
purely optional.
Experiment and see.
Just drag your address file on to the Addr>Web installed icon and away you go!
All the best!
Any problems, mail me at gdc@argonet.co.uk
